Well, after 1983 as it turns out, but my contention is that if the Omnipotent Listmeister saw fit to post photos of a near identical frame on the CR site, then he must consider it KOF, his opinion being the only one which, in the end, counts.

Now, it is clearly not lugged steel, but it does use construction techniques originated before 1983, namely AL tubes threaded and epoxyed into AL lugs. Indeed ALAN frames of this construction, aside from the dual downtubes, were being made at least as early a 1974, as I saw lots of them at the 1974 World Championships in Montreal. Now this definition of KOF might allow some circa 1990 stuff many of us wouldn't consider KOF, but I'm not sure any significant current aluminum frame uses this construction, unless ALAN themselves still offer a few of this type.

I had the impression that the Colnago - Alan Jerry just purchased would be considered an off topic bike in light of it being post 1983 and glued aluminum w/shimano 90's parts?

And if the List Master would like I can provide some photo's of R&E frames for the USA site. Nice touring frames, great lug work and some unique features like a bottom bracket dynamo braze-on
