After a long hunt, I recently scored a pair of Airlite High Flange Double F ixed hubs, 32 hole front, 28 hole rear.
I intend to build some aesthetically and possibly period-correct (more or l ess) tubular wheels for a 1960s Carlton Flyer Path Racer project with them, to be ridden on the imperfect roads of Los Angeles. I'm wondering about a few things.
First off, I'm around 190 pounds -- any need to to be concerned about ridin g a 28 hole rear hub?
Second, what kind of rims would be appropriate? I'm thinking some sort of s ilver tubular, like a Fiamme red label.
Also, I know that a 40 hole hub can be laced to a 32 hole rim -- is there a ny similar formula for 28 hole hubs?
And on that note, does anybody have suitable rims for sale or trade?
Your suggestions are, as always, appreciated.
