I acquired a McLean just a couple of months ago, and it is very similar to the one outed today. An exquisite bike, on a parr with the framebuilding gods, Sachs, Baylis, Weigle, Gordon and Fattic. One striking thing about McLean is that he was the ultimate minimalist. Everything serves function in a simple and clean way. Nothing is solely decorative. Sort of the Anti-Hetchins. Even down to the decals. Note that the one outed today has only downtube decals, none on the headtube or anywhere else. The Silk Hope frames he built had only a headtube decal, none on the downtube or anywhere else.

I own an older McLean and it is quite different in this respect.
