I agree with you totally. My very favourite bike most people wouldn't look at. But in the late 30's, maybe 40's, somebody built up an incredibly finely worked racer with dropouts so fine it's unbelievable. It has not brand, no history. But the craftsmanship is there. It just carries the guys intitials "AG" stamped on the BB, then the digits "139". The guy who built it was connected. Nobody but farmers are connected to their work any longer.
