The fork crown and head tube design is actually a representation of the "Arena", the Roman coliseum in Piazza Bra in the center of Verona. To the left you can see a piece of the coliseum that is taller, this is called the "ala" (wing) and is all this is left of the outer ring (the rest was destroyed in an earthquake in 1117.
