I'm selling an early front derailleur on Ebay which I'm told by whom I bought it from is a first generation Record, or the first one produced by Campag, I assume after Gran Sport was discontinued. Do direspect to another list member who wrote advising me that this was not exactly what I had, as he said it was among the earlier Record derailleurs produced in the first generation area, but truly not "the first". If anyone on the list is knowedgeable and can either back this opinion up or help I would like to correct any error on my auction or cancel and relist correctly. The auction pics are at the URL below.

Peter:

The Record front derailleur with the cable stop was officially produced from 1960 to 1967, but was available after that date by special order, apparently. There were several changes during the 1960-1967 period. I don't know the exact chronology of the various versions, but yours is the very-last 'official' generation of it. (Those pivot arms are made of aluminum, right?) I would call yours "about mid-1960s vintage."
