Sorry Nor, I don't want to be enlightened, Dale has put his foot down and there is no need to egg on any off-topic diatribe.

I do agree with Greg and others that prices of certain bike stuff of our interest has weakened and newer stuff has strengthened. I'm sure there are individual exceptions but the market for 1970's stuff and earlier seems to have weakened in general. I'm sure the weak economy and soft dollar have something to do with it. However, I have noticed an increased interest in 1980's stuff as well. I bid almost $1900 two weeks ago on complete Campy group that can't be named (hint: it followed Super Record) and I got smoked. And it wasn't even the highly desirable 1st generation stuff. However, I picked up an Alan Carbonio with the same group but with bars, stem and other goodies for $1130.00 including shipping from Quebec. So maybe the younger guys haven't yet figured out our myriad ways to skin a cat.

I look at the current weakness as a buying opportunity. I think once the economy recovers we may see higher prices. I don't see us going the way of the Wheelmen for quite some time.

On a more KOF note, I've finally been able to get out on my Chris Kvale. I'm not under the recommended 180 lbs weight limit yet but too bad. The damn bike rides so nicely that I just can't leave it in the basement. And it's absolutely gorgeous too.
