I had a similar problem with a lead barrel stuck in a Campagnolo downtube shifter. After using a punch and a drill, my drill slipped and I ruined the shifter.
Will heat (cheapo blowtorch) possibly work? Aluminum has a higher coefficient of expansion than steel. Has anyone used heat?
I have a similar problem with steel ferrules stuck in the steel barrel adjusters of an early but complete 1970's set of ratty Campagnolo Brakes. Are there any suggestions for this situation?
