ok, guys i looked this up, (thanks to the bikebrothers.co.uk who posted scans of the 1974 falcon catalog) appears to be a GiroD'Italia model number 104. but it came with a brooks saddle (looks like that got replaced), high flange hubs on "sprint" rims w/ clement tires (does this one seem to have differnet wheels?), 531 butted tubing. so, not the crappiest of the falcons, but sadly, i think it is crashed and some of the nicer parts down graded. in any case, not worth 400 bucks. i was wondering tho, what ya'll think about the dutch EM bikes? i don't think i have ever seen one.

\r?\n> Falcon made the Merckx bikes in at least a couple of
\r?\n> different price levels. This is a lower end model.
\r?\n> I'm not sure I believe the claim of 531 tubing,
\r?\n> although it is possible it is 531 straight-gauge main
\r?\n> tubes. I think maybe it is just the camera angle with the
\r?\n> fork. But even if the fork is fine, I personally
\r?\n> wouldn't have any interest in this bike at $400. But
\r?\n> perhaps someone will.

\r?\n> hey group,
\r?\n> does this look like a Falcon Merckx? the thing has a
\r?\n> kickstand and a rear refelctor. and does it look to any of
\r?\n> you like the fork is bent back, as in crashed?
