Frank Paino was a "name" in the bike trade here in Sydney for at least a couple of decades (mostly 70''s - 80's). he built frames and had a bike shop. Don't know much about him but have seen quite a few frames bearing the name. Just "Paino" and mostly track iron.
I saw the listing below. Seems OK-ish but looks like a rust candidate (Stanwell Park is a beach south of Sydney) and I wish I had a dollar for every time someone listed a bike dragged out from their shed or from under their house that they claimed was ridden by a great rider in the Commonwealth or Olympic games.
I've seen some very nice Paino's ... this one looks a bit chancy. My head immediately discounted it as not worth the cost of petrol for an hours drive down south to check it out. It does seem an early one with decals unlike I've ever seen ... that's about the only interesting thing to me. It clearly needs a lot of work and the seller's bad carpet has me a little scared.

My first really nice bike was a Paino, built by Frank Paino of Paino Cycles at Miranda (on the Kingsway opposite Westfields). Mine was circa 1986 (and sold in the mid 90's).
He closed his shop down in probably the late 90's I'd guess. I don't know if Frank is still making bikes at all.

The frame is actually a custom made steely by Frank Paino - he used to custom make bikes in the Miranda area many years ago... Bought it off ebay - gears no longer working (like that's a problem for me!) - but comes with a great frame and ultegra hubs laced to open pro rims - perfect commuting wheels.

the bike is a frank paino from when he sponserd a few illawarra riders many moons ago, i think the gear was 81 inch which i found suited the old bitumen unanderra track, sitting on the roller behind tank was good fun (zero resistance)
