Good Day,
I am new to the list. I started racing back inn 1978 on a
Motobecane Grand Record and then a beautiful Mavic equipped SLX frame
build by Gills Bertrand of Hull Quebec. I have worked in bike shops
for years, and got certified as a Campagnolo Master Mechanic by Bill
Ferrel at the New England Cycling Academy in the late 80's. I am
still racing but now on a carbon everything bike and have been drawn
back to the bikes I drooled over when I was younger. I just bought
a very nice Windsor Professional frame and am collecting the final NR
parts to complete it.
As I was cleaning out some old parts bins I found some items that I
am not familiar with and hope list members can help.
Gnutti High Flange Hubs: I always thought these were Normandy hubs
until i polished them up and saw the Gnutti logo. Does anyone know
anything about these? The logo says Gnutti and has the image of a
eagle with a cross in its talons.
I also have a Stronglight crankset that I considered as nice but
nothing super special. However reading posts from the list leads me
to believe I may have something. The cranks have a large oval
Stronglight logo on the front of the arm with Marque Deposee. On the
back it says 49D Made In France 170. The bdc seems to be 50mm. I
have the crank arms, dust caps and BB axle but no rings or ring
bolts. Does anyone know where these fit in the Stronglight line up?
Thanks,
Lane Wilkinson
