If you are bending the hanger I would strongly suggest having a derailleur hanger bolt screwed in. That keeps the threaded part of the hanger all in one plane. (Ask me how I know). Have straightened some that were bent pretty badly with good success back in my repair shop days. Certainly a real framebuilder would be your best resource for a professional repair.
