The other day Stefano Sandoli over in Italy offered a very interesting Stelbel bike to the list.
For those that didn't take the time to look more carefully, I must heartily recommend that you take a look. The bike is truly special and represents a real stepping stone in teh development of the Italian racing bike heritage. The builder Stelio Belletti was if not the very first, one of the very first Italian frame builders to employ TIG welding on his frames (in the 70's). He also used some other truly unique features and deserves to be remembered. In the bike that Stefano offered for sale, you can see that the frame was not only tig welded, but Belletti also sought out a novel way to construct the fork crown and a novel lay-out for the stays.
Somebody should really talk to Stefano about this bike and bring it over to Le Cirque, Larz and Velo Rendezvous. You can link to the thread by clicking here:
