Prior to 1985, Record caliper arms provided by Campy for pantographing by others would almost certainly have been the arms associated with "block-lo go" calipers of 1968-1984.  However, it is possible that some calipers wi th the "Anniversary" profile (similar or identical to the 1985-and later "s cript logo" arms) might have been provided from 1983 onward... but I doubt it. In any case, Ray's arms appear to have started as garden variety block logo arms, as would have the arms on the 1979 Guerc., and presumably  those on your '84 Guerc. since you say they are the same as Ray's Bianchi.

I think I may be raising more questions than giving answers.  I have a 19 84 Guerciotti with a full SR panto grouppo.  It appears to me that the same f orging or casting that made my caliper arms made the ones for Ray Dobbins'

Bianchi Specialissima.  However, Ray Dobbins also has a full panto Guerci otti that was a show bike for the 1979 New York bike show.  I could swear
t hat this 1979 Guerciotti has the same calipers with the same engraving as m y 1984.  He has had both his Bianchi and his Guerciotti listed on eBay re ce ntly.  Also, I recall seeing pre 1984 Colnago brochures showing panto cal ipers that look as if they were made from the later caliper arms.  Is it po ssible that Campy made these arms for panto purposes only before adopting t hem into the standard SR grouppo?
