What is interesting is the both have the same fork crown and seat stay treatment. So De Rosa used that Cinelli arrangement at least over a five year period. Also the green machine has no world stripes so someone won the worlds on a De Rosa between 1953 and 1958.
Or the dates are wrong.
I also don't have a clue...........

I think this DeRosa Hillary was not necessarily advertised as original finish, so braze ons could have been added.
I think there was discussion earlier that the bike Ken is selling is the same as the Green one that was for sale earlier on ebay and I think the photos are here:

If you look at the upper headlug on the green bike that is "supposedly from 1953" and then compare with the upper headlug photo of Ken's bike now on ebay here:

it would appear that the uneven lugline on the green bike is different than the current ebay bike. Perhaps, though, it is just the photo angle, or perhaps the original "error" was fixed up before it was repainted. Or perhaps there is no reason to assume that they are the same bike.
What does this all mean? I have no clue! What I do know is that there are few folks who can prep a bike for show as well as Ken.
