Hi all,
Recently, I purchased a Toei 650B which I love. It really is a wonderful bike. But, in order to justify the purchase I had to use the dreaded 'sell' word to justify the cost. I know I know. Never sell a bike. But, if I am going to sell something I hope it goes to a good caretaker.
So, I have a Cecil Berhinger road frameset 52cm seat tube c-c and 52cm top tube. The frameset has a Cinelli Bottom Bracket Shell and Columbus tubing. It is a Sport Touring frame and has braze-ons for fenders and bar con shifters. It is the original red paint and decals which are in very good condition. Pics upon request.
The bad news. The original owner wrecked it and the front brake caliper put a small dent in the down tube. I have ridden this a bit and it is fine. You could get it filled or touch it up. The good news. I think the owner only rode this bike a handful of times based on the condition of the equipment.
I am keeping the parts to put on a Bruce Gordon.
These are pretty rare even though Cecil built frames for many years. I have only seen one on ebay in the last 5 years.
Eisentraut gets mentioned quite a bit as the Godfather of Modern American framebuilding but Cecil may pre-date him and was doing cool things with Pino.
I hate selling this but I am thinking the herd and clearing my project queue. I am asking $300.00 for the frameset shipped.
