For the record, Wheelsmith is a trademame, probably a registered trademark, for a bike shop that expanded into a wheel-building firm and dealer of wheel-building supplies. Among his other foolishness, Bob Shackleford chose to call himself a wheelsmith.
Most of the people I know who build wheels call themselves wheelbuilders.
