I think this subject has come up a few times in the past, but as I have long since entered my golden years there are thoughts of a legacy for my descendents. I was trying to decide what to do with my bicycle collection. I have many bikes, although only a few are what can be considered monetarily valuable. The others represent noteworthy bikes of the golden age so to speak. And considering the increase in the value of vintage Campy components, even those may be of some worth. The notable bikes, the 72 Cinelli, the 80s Colnago, The 70s Legnano, the 80s DeRosa, the PX10s, and the early Bottecchia, will be left to my children with the understanding that they should remain in the family as long as possible. The others, I foresee will be sold. However, I'd like to include a disclaimer that they be sold to collectors and not just dumped in a garage sale or flea market booth. I was curious as to how others might feel about their collections.
