David,
You can always spray into a cup, and then use a brush to apply the paint taht collected in the cup.

\r?\n> My 69 Paramount has a lot of chips out of the paint and I
\r?\n> want to touch them
\r?\n> up. I have a spray can of the correct Schwinn color.
\r?\n> My question is: Would it be better to let the propellant
\r?\n> out of the can (by
\r?\n> turning upside down and depressing the valve), cut it open
\r?\n> and decant; and
\r?\n> brush the paint on the sanded and primed spots. Or just
\r?\n> spray with
\r?\n> extensive masking?
\r?\n>
\r?\n> There's not much paint in one of those little cans, of
\r?\n> course, and it won't
\r?\n> be easy to find any more of it. I don't want to
\r?\n> repaint overall because I
\r?\n> like the old dealer decal and the pinstriping.
