Dmitry, I would heartily agree with you! I HATE those old zinc plated spokes. Every time you clean them, the plating wears thinner, until there's nothing but steel left, which corrodes right away. Even the zinc plating corrodes under damp, salty conditions. I guess if one wanted to be anally period correct, one could use them, but would have to preserve the bike in a vacuum sealed time capsule. I suppose one could dull the finish on SS spokes with Scotchbrite to "distress" them to look more period correct.
