Subject: [CR]Pics of Romic Touring Bike and Framesaver question

A couple of people asked for photos of the Romic touring frame. Unfortunately, my slowly improving photography seems to have suffered a relapse. Too much direct sun on several of these.

The serial number is 100145776. I'm thinking the last 2 digits may be the year, making this 1976. I suspect this is Tange DB tubing. It has Shimano forged DO's and pretty sure it's Imron paint. Happily the color is nearly identical to my 1950 Claud Butler Avant Coureur, so the same touch up, AKA nail polish, worked famously, although it hadn't yet been applied in these photos.

This is hardly Ray's masterpiece, but it is a clean quality touring bike at a moderate price. Unfortunately, this is the kind of frame that is economically impossible to produce in America (or probably UK or Europe) today. Not sure I'd have gone to the trouble to rebuild a bike like this if it hadn't been built by Ray Gasorowski, but it was, and I, like several others here, remember Ray fondly.

I have a question. I'm inclined to treat this with JP Weigle's Framesaver before reassembling. But since the frame is over 30 years old, it probably already has some internal corrosion. What is the consensus about the usefulness of treating and old used frame with FrameSaver? Since the aforesaid JP Weigle is a member here, perhaps he will chime in. What about it Peter?
