My girlfriend picked up a Proteus touring bike at a swap meet last year. I had never heard of them till I checked out the CR site. Thanks for posting up that awesome catalog. My girlfriends model was labeled a "Century" and someone told me that it might have been built for a century ride that was sponsored by the Proteus shop in 1975 or 1976. Anyway, its the only bike we have ever found that actually fit my girlfriend w/ her inseam of 28". I thought that the wheels it came with were 26", but perhaps they are 650b?

It has since recieved a repaint and is in fixed-gear conversion mode for the time being.
