On a cold snowy day, out come the old Cyclings. In the 12 Nov 1953 First sho w number. page 490 is a drawing of a Viking track bike. The down tube is ext ended below the bottom bracket to about 2" above the ground, Then the chains tay are angled down to this point and connected to the down tube. The Bottom bracket is connected to the seat tube and down tube at the usual point."To prevent whip" says the listing. Seems to me, that the design would promote whip!, the bottom bracket has only two attachment points, without t he chain stays not four? as usual. Was this frame ever made and used? anyone know? Also on page 491 is a joke showing a bike on a stand "the FIRST all-t itanium cycle" a chap in bowler and eveing suit with I assume his butler, say ing " Shall I ask, your grace, wheather they will take the Rolls in part exc hange?" this was 1953!! when WAS the first all-titanium bike made? may be some surprises in the answer to that one. Comments and answers may win a 1952 Brown bros cat, CD. By the way I have consulted about the Brown Br os issue. with my attorney and barrister RUMPOLE OF THE BAILEY he says sue the Bas---d, Cheers John Crump OldgoingbacktosleepBrit. Parker Co USA

as anybody ever successfully repaired a torn Campy gum hood? Assuming it s fairly supple and can be slipped onto a20brake lever, is there anything that can be done to deal with this 1/2" tear? The finish was achieved by a special polishing echnique. The stem and bars are handmade. The little bike engraving is anoth er tero symbol. This bike was ridden by a number of professionals, including ahamont es, a close friend of Otero. here is period documentation-a newspaper article. he current shop on the street Segovia only sells contemporary bikes now-Trek is heir biggest seller. orgA different 650: 650c. I don't know the answer to the second question
this size and the rims are probably off topic. Because of their applica
ion, satisfying ideas of minimizing frontal air resistance, no tires l
rger than 23mm nominal have been made. (with rare minor exception.) If one
is old enough, a 650c bike reminds one of the 85% sized cutlery airlines
used to employ for food service. Or how the world looks through some incor
ectly ground lenses for vision correction. There may be some Georgena Terr
steel bikes using 650c wheels for smaller size frames, but they are not

i all, BACK AGAIN need to get a handle on this gig before it gets out of hand.
lease note, as stated in the earlier ( EARLIER ) offering this is a cash and carry gig. Once the weekend passes we will know what is left, we'll hen make a total CR offer. Please note: These prices are for a cash and ca ry transaction. After the weekend passes we'll then make an offer to the W OLE CR list, then the prices will be moving up a little bit. Example sen ing a bundle of tires we'll need to include time involved and cost of pack ng material, these are things that we have to add into the price. To sen such an item, boxes are not readily available, so we'll then need to
ut down a bike box for the shipping of a bundle of tires. Could take 20 to 30 minutes and if there is no box available then over to some other bike s op for a box, sometimes had for FREE and other times $ 5.00 per box, m ny times no box available. But then again we can send a BIG box from EUROP direct, 40ft container of goods we can provide.
YI. We didn't mean to mislead anybody in anyway. It's mainly Cecile and my elf taking on this load, yes we are taking on a lot! Earlier this summer Cecile was in Holland to make things ready for this trip, my trip....... .......It will be a SMASH AND PACK TRIP, I'll be stuffing this container like a can of sardines in the freezing Dutch weather!
