Has anyone any information regarding pre 1950 (Adam Hill) vintage Merlin cycles. Have a classic 1930/40s Merlin brand cycle to restore. Bayliss Wiley hubs, Villiers Model Deluxe Free Wheel, Resilion Cantilever Brakes, Perry & Co Ltd Bottom Bracket, Split Clip Head Set and Merlin Head Badge, which I cannot match and the frame number. A similar restored model by Elliot Bay Bicycles, Seattle is featured on the Classic Rendezuous website. I would like to accurately date this bike and find out more about Ernie Merlin who I believe was the maker. I have posted photos on flickr.com Classic Lightweights page.
