Subject: [CR] Introduction

Hi Listers, After lurking on the list for a week I've decided it was time to introduce myself. Despite being born in the off topic era and only coming to cycling itself a few years ago I have decided to restore a 1970s (Swedish) Crescent 92320. I saw a few of these orange perils riding around in the short time I spent in Sweden as a student and loved the idea of riding one around Melbourne, Australia when I came home.

Feel free to head over to crescent-restoration.blogspot.com for some pictures and a great deal of uneducated rambling on the restoration process so far.

I am yet to decide what components will stay and what will be replaced with modern/better parts to make the bike a more enjoyable ride; I hope that from browsing the archives and posing a question here or there I can get some solid opinions and advice on this topic.

The bike is a little way from complete, at the moment it is a 2 speed (Front Derailleur: Rider dismounting and shifting chain with fingers) and the brakes seem to wish to talk the bike into slowing rather than applying any force. I hope, however, that it won't be too long before I'm cruising up and down Mt. Dandenong showing my beautiful Swede a bit of the Australian countryside.

Cheers, David
