My daughter's early 80's junior 24" wheel Romic was built by Ray Gasorowski of Aelle, and it rode quite nicely, at least as near as I could tell, as it was of course much too small for me.

I've seen quite a lot of very nice Italian frames built of Aelle, from a variety of builders, many of them detailed and finished very nearly as nicely as SL frames from the same builders, but at a significantly lower price. These bikes seem to have been very much racing frames (as are most Italian frames other than city bikes), probably intended for amateur racers. I'm not a great fan of everything connected with Italian bikes, but I have always admired the level of detail and finish Italian builders were willing to apply to an affordable frame made from a less prestigeous tubeset. One only rarely sees this in frames from other countries. In the US most customers who had an appreciation of the detailing and finish would want a frame built of a "top" tubeset.
