Thanks, Steve, I'd never seen clearly the distinctions between the GS and Valentino FDs. Course, for me, it never mattered: neither one of them shifted wurth a durn. :-)
So, the good one (GS) is the one without the reinforced shoulder where the shaft wears against the body. I'll put this design right up there with my other Campagnolo bits and pieces: the Sport single-pulley (16-22) rear, and the Gran Trashmo (infinite chain takeup: just couldn't shift anything).

Please be advised that the one on the left in the photo is indeed a Gran Sport derailleur, while the other one on the right is a less sought after Valentino.
