Brake levers play into this. I have one bike with on topic classic Campy Record brakes with off topic Campy levers made for the first Delta brakes. You can identify the levers by the cable adjustment in the lever. This combo provides the best braking-both actual and feeling-of any Campy setup I've used and my first bike with Campy brakes was 1972.
