Subject: Re: [CR] The Sound of Old Freewheels

I long for one of those old noisy freewheels every time I come up behind people walking two or three abreast, blocking the bike path. And that's almost every day. Sometimes it's only one person who can't seem to hold a steady course that's effectively blocking the path. And I'm ready to put my money where my mouth is; if anybody has an 18- tooth single speed, really noisy, but functional freewheel, reasonably priced, I'll buy it. Offer good for up to three freewheels. I could also use a couple of 6-speeds too.

PS: Yeah, I know the noisy freewheel won't help with the solitary walker with a cell phone. The other day one of those guys gesticulated me in the arm as I passed. He did apologize though. If "My bad!" is actually an apology.

PPS: Don't even suggest a bell. I've tried that and all I get is ignored or ridiculed. And I tried one of those things with a little girl voice saying something like, "Get out of the way!" in Japanese, but the sound doesn't carry far enough.
