know Howie as one of the early executives--maybe a founder(?) of West Coa
st Cycle Supply, which imported NIshiki, Azuki, Windsor, Mondia and proba
bly a couple I'm forgetting in the 1960's and 1970's. Howie was in the b
icycle business when there was damned little of it in this country. Like
Ted Ernst, Peter Rich, the officers of the Los Angeles Wheelmen, Howie was
one of the people who kept cycling possible in the western US in it's lean
