Sounds a bit complicated to hold the freewheel. I'd either get a LH bracketcup with a large bolt through the axle hole to enable it to be clamped in a vise, or I'd sacrifice an old hub. Spin the hub on and tap the cone loose. When you're done tightening the cone will loosen the FW again
