Chuck Brooks listed a few items FS on eBay: <snip>

4) Stronglight Mod 99 Crankset - Exc: 170mm w/52x40 rings. These can be made into a triple with the correct spacers - IMO, one of the most versatile cranksets ever produced. # 220358678696

<snip> I share Chuck's view of the value and versatility of the 99, and would offer a couple of notes to those interested:

a) The 99 comes in (at least) two versions. The earlier is prettier, with arms that match the width of the rings better. But, the earlier takes a Stronglight crank puller, while the later version uses the "standard" 22x1 that every shop has for every other crank.

b) The 99 has clones, notably SR. Some say the rings on the SR are softer and wear faster. I use the two kinds of cranks and rings almost interchangeably. Yup, the Stronglights are more authentic for some bikes, but the gears shift the same.

Your mileage may vary.
