Eddie,

First let me say I admire your courage in speaking up about the real iss ue at hand. There should be no clandestine auction for the exact reasons you state. We come to the Cirque to be united and have fun, not to be f orced to decide which side of the fence we're on. The auction will conti nue and I'm sure we will all enjoy it. I will be donating to the auction for the first time this year as a gesture of support for the decisions of the management and for the benefit of the event itself. I hope everyo ne comes to realize that those who put in their time, money, and other e fforts to put on this event have the right to manage the event in the th e manner they see most beneficial to the quality of the event and to ser ve the needs of the majority of those who plan to attend. This is what W ayne intends to do and I for one will support that 110%.

Brian Baylis La Mesa, CA I'll be there with something to contribute for the benifit of all.

As on previous occasions I will now attempt to stick my foot in mouth. I see, as I have communicated both to Perg and to Wayne, an unwanted and unwelcome schism emerging that has as its focus the Cirque auction but m ay not be limited to it. We do not need competing auctions. Further, alth oug h the auction is a great way to give something back, I do not go to Cirque

primarily to somehow "remedy" the problems of the world and give somethi ng back....I go to get away from their daily drumbeat. I give something bac k i n my own way in my daily life. Again, an auction of some sort is fine, don e b y whomever. But, I for one, don't want to go to an event where loyalties and friendships become strained, allegiances are questioned, and I feel an increased tension rather than fun and relaxation, etc., etc., etc.
