Subject: [CR] Brooks Saddle Spanners

Just received today a couple of Brooks spanners. I've managed to live without them for decades, but I found it a little inconvenient tensioning a new steel Swallow recently with a standard wrench, although a Campy seatpost wrench works better. So I bought a couple of Brooks spanners, the regular Brooks spanner for all the recent steel models including the steel Swallow, plus the special spanner that evidently fits only the Ti Swallow. All the other Ti models, at least all the ones I have, take a standard metric allen wrench.

So does anyone know why Brooks found it necessaty to use on the Ti Swallow a different nose bolt from any other saddle? I actually thought the allen socket on the other Ti saddles was a pretty good idea, so why not use it on the Ti Swallow? Maybe they just wanted to sell spanners.
