I had a Peugeot with gold anodized components on a black frame, looked really nice. As for the taste of the tape. I prefer black that taste like licorice, sometimes red but try and get the tape without the glue, it taste nasty.
Now you have put in my mind the idea of looking for that licorice candy tape I used to have as a kid, it did come in black and red and was basically the proper size for handlebar tape. Hmmmm, gotta go now and contact the Power Bar folks with an idea that just popped into my head. No slip, eat as you go, nutritious energy bar tape.
