The answer to this is; Yes!
I have seen relatively recent work from Brian Baylis, Joe Bell, Cyclart in California, Velocolour in Toronto, and ....? Maybe others who are not coming to mind. Other painters have accomplished that look through masking & spraying; Keith Andersen for instance did a beautiful job on the NAHBS Best in Show bike by CR member Dan Polito.
