Spec'd for tubulars yes. Clearance for 'guards, you bet (like you can pu t your fist between the tire tread and the brake caliper and these are norma l reach!). Maybe 27"s? Mark IIs and beyond had tighter front clearances for sure but up to Mark V's they had pretty long chainstays didn't they? But

all this works in that weird British fashion; this Mark I just rides and handles like a dream. I wish I knew more about what "makes" a frame do this: angles, chainstay length etc. but whatever it is, it's a sublime m ix of smooth running, nimble handling and hill climbing ease that "clicks".

When I do London-Holyhead (hah!), this will be my mount.
