When I was working at Yamaha, distributors of Viscount, one of the mechanics in the motorcycle racing division was a cyclist. He took a large flange Lambert/Viscount hub, turned it down in a lathe and drilled 36 holes. I laced it to a Fiamme Ergal and it was my front race wheel. I can tell by the spacers that this is the same thing, except the rear. I'll bring the old wheel to the San Diego Custom Bicycle Show. BTW, it weighs the same as a Ksyrium front wheel.

Back in the day, no one paid us to race, gave us parts or paid our entry fees, so we had to do things cheap. Instead, local bike shop owners, like Ralph Carnevale, often helped me out.
