Subject: [CR] Teaching how to build a wheel

Dear Earl,

Thanks for offering the class. I really appreciate you sharing what you know. IF was there I would love to take it and learn.

In the bike shops I have worked at I have eventually became the wheel guy. I think in the same way a potter goes to work so I love to build wheels.

My day job does not always have discernable beginnings and endings so wheel building has always been a way that I could see a good job come to a conclusion.

My father taught me. Much earlier in life he was primarily the lead guy in an auto body shop but also trued motorcycle and auto wheels.

Merle Adams of Adams Schwinn shop in Erie Pa taught me to be consistent and fast.

Everybodys bike book introduced a 14 year old or so to subversive humor.

Peter Stull "the bicycleman" in Alfred NY demonstrated a consistent level of excellence in building and repair that amazes me.

Glad you are starting the path for others.

Currently building a 650 b wheelset. 3x rustless 14 gauge spokes (cut phil wood spoke cutter that Peter Stull owns), Vintage Weinmann rims and now the tough choice NOS first generation shimano 600 cassette UG hubs or Maillard Helichomatic.
