Hello Listmembers,

I'm clearing some inventory in anticipation of new stuff coming in. I have for sale a 1985 Jack Taylor Tourist (Filled-Brazed), Serial #8232 with matching numbered rack. This bike has a sloping top tube. Overall condition is a 9.5 out of 10. It is absolutely beautiful, especially in the sunlight. I will be keeping the tubular wheels and the saddle. The wheels which I will supply with the bike will be Avocet hubs laced to Rigida clincher rims. I can provide pics of these upon request. Here are the statistics:

Seat Tube - 46cm CTT Top Tube (sloping) 53.5cm CTC

Shifters - Campy Bar End Rear Derailleur - Campy Rallye (last gen) Front Derailleur - Campy 980 (IMHO nothing shifts a triple like a 980) Brakes/Levers - Mafac Racer, levers tuned to fit smaller hands Stem - Jack Taylor Handlebars - Cinelli 38cm Seat Post - Strong 27.0 Chainset - Specialites TA (last gen) 50/42/32 Cranks - Specialites TA 160mm Pedals - Specialites TA

All of the parts were NIB when the bike was built! Many were sourced from Bicycle Specialties, others from the Baron.

Because of the sloping top tube, the bike rides larger than I had anticipated. I would equate it to a @52cm. I would love to keep it, but I am uncomfortable stretching out over the bike. It really rides well and eats up the miles. Again, the condition is amazing with no dents or dings. There are two small areas of paint wear. One is on the drive-side chainstay behind the chainring (chain rub from a derailed chain. The other is on the drive side chainstay near the dropout between the small cog and the stay; again, chain rub. Both of these areas are invisible when the bike is built.

Here is a link to my Wool Jersey site with some pics:

The frame is also registered on Joel Metz' excellent Jack Taylor site.

I am asking $1200.00 plus shipping; although I would really like to see someone pick it up. It will go up on eBay if no one on the list shows interest. Thanks!
