Basically the arguments seem to be: Non-helmet: Don't tell me what to do. I am a highly skilled cyclist in a free country Helmet: Don't be an idiot. You are courting death or injury
Lots of strong feelings here. I guess the first question would have to be, has anyone changed his or her mind based on all the polemics flying around? It is hard to imagine the non-helmet riders finally being swayed by today's arguments. Certainly all have been aired before. It is harder yet to imagine any helmet wearer giving it up because of something written here.
I put one on every time I go out, although I don't love it. It's just one of those things I do. It probably diminishes the pleasure of the ride by a tiny amount, but the trade-off is worth it to me.
