I usually put Tufo Extreme on triathlon event tires (because the tape is easier to work with when you have to change your own tubular flat). The tape has never failed. Tufo does not guarantee their tape will work well on all tires. So you may want to check your tire. As for sealant-- Tufo will work with most tires but not Vittoria latex. It will screw up the latex. So I use Pit Stop with latex and Tufo and others sealants when working with butyl tubes. ------Original Message------ From: Robert D. There's Tufo sealant, Stans, or Vittoria Pit Stop.

But a latex tube from the 80's may be shot.

Can anyone offer some tire sealant opinions. I have a couple of dead 80s Italian Clement Criteriums w/ replaceable valves. I'm not sure if tubes are natural rubber or latex. I'll be riding them--No Show, Just Go!
