Ken, Thanks for sharing the story of you Carpenter and how you came about putting it into your collection. From the time I raced in the the DC area in the early and mid 60's Caprenter seemed to be the choice of many top riders, Bobby Phillips, Jug Mathews and some others. Bill Veter and Boots Ward had them as well and I would sit and look at the lug work and though that some day I would have one built. Man, back then it costs a fortune to have one built.......I think shipped they were around $125 and then there was the wait........about 2-4 months. Bobby Phillips had a beautiful full chrome track bike with the same lugs that are used on yours........just gorgeous. I do find it very appropriate that someone in the DC area has one of the finest examples of that Marque. I and many others would be greatly disappointed if you were to show up at the Cirque without the Carpenter.
