Subject: [CR] Stuck part

I have '72 NR rear derailleur that is giving me fits. I've stripped it down to clean it, but the spring cage cover is stuck on the spring cage and I can't seem to get it loose. I let it soak in mineral spirits for one week, and it then spent two weeks in PB Blaster. I've used a heat gun to gently apply heat hoping to cause the cover to expand a bit before the spring cage also expanded. I've read every stuck seatpost/stem/BB cup post I could find. So far, no luck. Any ideas or recommendations would be most welcome.
