Hey, guys,

I did purchase a model 172 in Carbondale, IL around 1974 or 5. Mine was all French with Simplex's higher end plastic units just like a PX-10. Down tube shifters. Mine was white with candy apple red head tube and panel. Very pretty foil decal job, at least I thought so. Mine had the high polish Stronglight 99 crank as well as cruder CLB centerpulls. The stem was a high polish, flat-topped square-shaped one marked Follis. Blue, white and red tops on the seat stays. Some tiny balls of solder around the seat lug.

Ken Wehrenberg, Hermann, MO USA -- who now has a 1950s Follis in the reverse color scheme, but with the fancy name-cut lugs
