..yes, and in the shadow of that Velodrome, several NYC/Bronx frame builders worked---- Henry Damirell, Willi Appelhans....

Damirell's crippled widow (Kay) maintained a bike shop there ("The Wheel")  ,first on Broadway and then further north, until about 1990 or so-- Adolph Juner was part of their circle of friends.

Not many people know that for 8 years, from 1922 to 1930, there was a velodrome in Marble Hill in the Bronx, just across the Broadway Bridge from Manhattan:
