I recently had an experience where I was late to respond to a Craigslist listing for a Serotta Nova bicycle for $250.00. It was a few hours from my home and this was the week where we got +20" of snow in Colorado and I-70 was closed. When I started looking at the pictures the bicycles was decked out with Campagnolo 50th anniversary components so needless to say I would have loved to have scored the bike. It is now on ebay!!!
I was talking to Rod, who may or may not be on the list and he was telling me about an Italian bike listing on craigslist. That was it, Italian bike needs a little work and new tires for $250.00. Turned out to be a Gran Criterium!
So, it got me thinking. Who else has just missed out on stuff like this? So close you could taste it but it just wasn't in the cards!
