If you're gonna just ride the bike then gear it like you would a road bike. If I were going to set it up like a race bike I'd use a single 42 in the front with a 13-26 in the back. For a few more options a 42-46 in front would be ok too.

The frame came to me via Larry Meyers, via Matt Gorski? via Eric Elman?

Building with circa 1979 Nuovo Record components, Weinmann cantilevers (rebranded Mafac's I believe), Cinelli bar/stem, Turbo Speciale saddle.

Question for the list - is there a typical gearing for cyclocross? Chainring size? Gear range?
