Subject: [CR] 80s Bianchi Seat Stay question redux

I would like to pose this question once again, this time with visual examples of what I am refering to courtesy of pics from Ray dobbins website. These pics show the seat-stay profile.

Is there anyone familiar with this Columbus tubing and if other brands besides Bianchi used it? Thanks in advance- Nels Cone Seattle WA

I was crusing the CR site when I saw the webmaster's 83 Specialissima. I noticed the round cross-section of the seat-stays. The 83 X-3 and a couple of later models (Mondiale, etc.) I have seen have an oval or almost a rounded corner rectangular cross-section instead of the round type. I do not know what the Centenario has, although I am aware that it is a really souped-up X-3. Yes, i also understand that 85 is beyond the 83 CR cut-off, but also was aware that the Centenario was once a very praised bike here on the CR list. But I digress... does any one know if there are any other pre-85 models that have this seat-stay arrangement? Or better yet, are there any other manufacturers out there, i.e. Colnago, that used this tubing as well? I know this tubing is not common, but did not imagine it was proprietary to Bianchi. regards- Nels Cone Seattle WA
