Dear All,
I Just finished putting together the first of two Peugeot PX10's.
I purchased the frame and a few of the bike's original bits and pieces on Ebay. As far as I can tell, the paint is original and so are the decals.
It was built from parts gleaned from various sources with care and respect for the original specification. The finished bike is correct in most aspects apart from the Ideale model 90 saddle which replaces the original Ideale 2001 item.
I am now working on a second PX10, which is of a slightly later vintage but the same decal layout and type. It is currently at the paint shop. It will be fitted with identical parts, thanks to certain members of this mailing list and to EBay.
Unlike this slightly earlier PX10, the second bike will be fitted with later Mafac Competition brakes (with the black label) and full hoods on the levers. The bike in the photo has the first type of Mafac Competition brake with the stamped text on the brake levers and, as you can see, it has half-hooded levers.
The stem is the correct version, but it originally had Philippe labels. I managed to change them for Peugeot labels after heating the originals with a hairdryer and unpeeling them. If you try to do this cold, you will not succeed and very likely scratch the stem!!
This is the first time I have created a blog, so I hope that the link works. Here it is:
